“I would say this was my favorite project experience—when you have synergy with a fellow designer, and find yourself on the floor sketching and ideating, that is when the magic happens. I wanted to create a material package that could be fully customized. The top protective layer is a tinted TPU/TPE woven with a perforated stretch mesh base—that when embroidered can be locked in zones for containment. I love the diffused depth that comes through the various layered color application.”

Footwear has become my specialty, with over 14 years of experience working for brands such as Patagonia, Chaco, Jordan Brand, and Nike Inc. I love designing performance materials that allow people to explore the world and push the boundaries of athleticism in their daily lives.
cmf design
Color and finish are my passion. Cultivating an emotional response to color and textures is so important in a world becoming more digitally engaged. When I have been part of creating an object that "just feels right" it has served it's first purpose—comfort and joy.
textile craft
Textiles carry with them a history and a memory. I come from a family of quilters, a tradition passed on through the female lineage. Connecting textiles back to natural color application and handtouched craft, verses machine application, brings a nostaligia that comforts and connects me back to myself. I currently explore the poetic link between textiles and words and have found a practice of self-expression in that natural creative space.
